ForumThis is a location where you can ask questions and get answers from the community. I heard Dr. Watson recently discuss this book and the techniques to get Insurance Companies to cover the costs. My daughter is in critical need of this surgery and her AETNA insurance refuses to cover it. They stated that if the Agency she works for will override the exception, then they would. She has numerous letters to write and Dr.'s to ask for submission of same, however, I am afraid it will be too late. Can you tell me if there are any lawyers in northern Virginia area who are familiar with fighting these cases? My daughter is a 400 lb. single parent of an 8 year old son with Asperger's. If she passes, he will not recover. I am in desperate need of some help for her. Thank you in advance for any assistance or information you can provide.
Hi, I am an orthodox Jew contemplating lap band surgery. I am looking to hear from others who have done it. I want to know about kosher protein powders and liquid vitamins, and what you do about the foods you are supposed to eat - for example, challah bread on Saturday night?
I have an 11 year old boy who is overwieght >200 lbs, suffers from asthma, his legs hurt a lot and he is autistic. I also have a 13 year old girl who weighs >200 lbs, her chest hurts a lot, has low self esteem and depression. Can they qualify for the lapband? They both have health partners.
The FDA approval for the Band requires the patient to be more than 18 years of age. There are many Universities which have an experimental protocol that allows band placement of teenagers under protocol. Contact the nearest university bariatric program.
